“Finding My Way” by Malala Yousafzai | Book Promotion

Thrust onto the public stage at fifteen after the Taliban’s brutal attack on her life, Malala Yousafzai became an international icon of bravery and resilience. But away from the cameras, she spent years struggling to find her place in an unfamiliar world. In Finding My Way, Malala goes beyond the headlines for the first time, offering a vulnerable, surprising memoir that hums with authenticity, sharp humor, and tenderness as she reintroduces herself on her own terms.

A story of friendship and first love, anxiety and self-discovery, Finding My Way traces Malala’s path from high school loner to reckless college student to a young woman at peace with her past. Through candid, often messy moments—nearly failing exams, getting ghosted, falling in love—she reveals what it means to grow up when the world thinks it already knows you. In reclaiming her narrative, Malala reminds us that real role models aren’t perfect—they’re human, and courageous enough to be unapologetically themselves.

The Project

I was hired to advise and provide supplemental public relations support to author Malala Yousafzai for the book's promotional tour. All  efforts were completed in partnership with her team at Extracurricular Productions, and the U.S. and U.K book publishing team at Simon & Schuster.

The Result

I secured interviews for Malala with Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Bookmarked by Hello Sunshine, Womanly Magazine, and The Shift (a new magazine from Gloria Steinem). I also staffed Malala for key interviews with The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Hasan Minhaj Doesn't Know, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and USA Today.

The book was an instant New York Times Bestseller and was named a USA Today Book of 2025.
